Pardon Me, Prime Minister by Cuckfield Dramatic Society

Members of Cuckfield Dramatic Society will present Pardon Me, Prime Minister at the Queen’s Hall from 1st-4th June.

Written by playwright Edward Taylor (who has worked on many classic BBC series including Morecambe and Wise and The Two Ronnies) and John Graham, the play is set in Number 10 Downing Street. On the eve of the budget the Prime Minister and the Chancellor are preparing a puritanical crackdown on vices such as gambling, sex and night clubs. Shocks are in store, however, when exotic dancer Shirley arrives, the result of a post-party conference ‘party’ many years ago….

The play promises all the elements of a classic farce: poking fun at authority, embarrassing situations, mistaken identities, secret passions, people unaware of others and, of course, various states of undress!

Doors and Bar open at 7.15pm. Curtain-up at 8pm. Tickets cost £7 and £8, or two for £12 on Wednesday and are available from Wealden Stores and Marcus Grimes in Cuckfield or via the website:  www.CuckfieldDamaticSociety.com

Why it's important to advertise your business repeatedly and consistently

Marketing your business, whatever it sells or service it provides, is the most important aspect of running that business.

You want your business to grow, right?

There are many great reasons why advertising your business regularly makes better sense for your business. One bit of research in the US found that respondents to a long-running ad campaign said that they trusted the company more just because it was always visible and advertising in the same place; 'They (the company) must be good' they (the potential customer) thought.

Of course we also know that you need to be in the right place at the right time, for someone to WANT to know about your product or services at the moment that they actually NEED them. Advertising in our local magazines EVERY MONTH means that you will be well known, when the need comes around.

Here are a few videos which give insight into the power of successful repeating advertising:

Will Cuckfield help again - Syrian refugees aid collection 2016

By Michael Maine (vicar, Holy Trinity Church, Cuckfield)

Dear friends,

As I mentioned last month, we had a remarkable response to our aid appeal in the autumn. Samara’s Aid is a local Brighton charity which provides aid to the huge refugee camps in and around Syria. We asked for winter clothing etc, with the hope of sending 100 banana boxes from Cuckfield. In the end we sent 240 boxes and over £1,000 in donations towards the cost of transport! It was a remarkable achievement, and Samara’s Aid were able to clothe over 100,000 refugees – and our contribution was part of this incredibly important work.

This time we are hoping to supply Pregnant and Post Natal Care Packs and Family Care Packs. Many thousands of children are being born in appalling conditions in the camps and we can improve their lives through our gifts.

You will find leaflets and details of what we are hoping to send in the church.  If you want to pack your own box, please check the church website (www.holytrinitycuckfield.og) where you will also find the requirements. Please don’t be daunted by the list, but if you are able to supply any items, that would be great.

You may also make a donation towards transport (marked ‘transport’ and left in the church office in the Old School). Donations may also be made online

Please bring any items to the church from Sunday 17th April and leave inside the tower area. packing will be carried out on Saturday/Sunday 23/24th April.

For a FULL LIST OF WHAT CAN BE DONATED see the church website: http://www.holytrinitycuckfield.org/samaras-aid-appeal-2016/
