TLAP thrives in Cuckfield

TLAP is the slogan: THINK LOCAL, ACT PERSONAL

The Cuckfield community already has a wide range of activities specifically designed for those who live alone in their retirement. In the face of successive government failing to tackle care in the community from top down, now is the time to engage with local charities and organisations to make their respective resources better know.

Many individuals already keep an eye out for their neighbours who fall into this age range, who have health issues, have suffered recent bereavement or are struggling with increasing technology.

Below are listed some of the local activities already in place. The parish council is acting as a hub and will assist you with other contacts.

Cuckfield Parish Council's Annual Parish Meeting is all about YOU!

Next month Cuckfield Parish Council will host the Annual Parish Meeting, which it was been doing slightly differently for the last few years.

Held in the evening, the event is an opportunity for residents to hear guest speakers, view the Cuckfield Parish Business Plan, meet local councillors and the parish council team, as well as people from some of the local groups and organisations, which will be exhibiting there. Plus there will be free refreshments!

Kate West, Communications and Admin Officer, explained: “We want to hear from residents about the issues that matter most in Cuckfield. If there are topics you’d like us to cover, or information you’d like to hear about, please let us know. The Annual Parish Meeting is open to the whole community and provides a great opportunity to find out more about local projects and plans. Please email your suggestions to me at: kate.west@cuckfield.gov.uk.”

This year’s meeting will be held at 7pm on Thursday 26th March at Queen’s Hall.

Cuckfield Museum reopens with new exhibition this Feb 2026

Cuckfield Museum will reopen later this week after its winter break with a new display, ‘Post Haste’, looking at the way postal deliveries were organised in days gone by. From ever-faster mail coaches to the coming of the railway, speed was of the essence.

From Saturday 14th February, our normal opening hours are as follows:
Wednesday to Saturday - 10am till 12.30pm or by appointment.
